Le Fogge<\/h2>\n

Le Fogge is an ancient country house of the last century recently renovated.<\/p>\n

The total absence of permanent surface hydrography and surface water tables imposes on the inhabitants of the area the creation of artificial reservoirs similar to huge tanks for the accumulation of rainwater, the only water source in the entire territory.<\/p>\n

These reservoirs obtained in the natural rocks of the area were called \u201cFogge\u201d.<\/p>\n

The owners have recovered the ancient and cramped houses used by the peasants, creating typical rural houses with walls in tufa, local limestone.<\/p>\n

All rooms of the house are air conditioned, furnished with care, taste and equipped with all comforts.<\/p>\n

A fairy tale scenario awaits those who are preparing to visit these places for the first time.<\/p>\n

From the terrace of the house it is possible to admire the splendid panorama of the Fasano countryside scattered by innumerable centenarian olive trees, from plots of land bordered by the characteristic dry stone walls built with stones extracted from the land for reclamation and excavation of the Fogge.<\/p>\n

The position is strategic: it favors the movements towards the most interesting sites allowing to pass from the plain to the sea or to the hill in 10 minutes by car through the streets of the \u201cPiana degli Ulivi\u201d recently proposed to UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.<\/p>\n

The seaside areas of the coast are very lively and leave plenty of choice for visitors: the splendid sandy beaches of Torre Canne or the various \u201ccoves\u201d, small inlets that run along the route to Savelletri with a crystal clear sea.<\/p>\n

Equally lively are the holiday areas of the Fasano, Selva di Fasano and Laureto in the hilly area.<\/p>\n

Le Fogge\u00a0\u00e8 un antico casale di campagna del secolo scorso recentemente ristrutturato.<\/p>

L\u2019assenza totale di un\u2019idrografia superficiale permanente e di falde freatiche superficiali impose agli abitanti della zona la realizzazione di invasi artificiali assimilabili ad enormi cisterne per l\u2019accumulo dell\u2019acqua piovana, unica sorgente idrica dell\u2019intero territorio.<\/p>

Questi invasi ricavati nelle rocce naturali della zona vennero chiamate\u00a0\u201cFogge\u201d.<\/p>
